About Us
THE FULL STORY
None Such Gardens was formed by Ellie Bullen in 2024 after moving back to her home state of Kentucky. Having traveled across the country learning skills of the trade, Ellie came to Louisville with the intention to steward landscapes across the region. Her passion and inspiration is fueled by the abundance of natural beauty and biodiversity in the Bluegrass state.
The goal of None Such Gardens is to restore green spaces - both ecologically and aesthetically. We take initiative to compost our yard waste in order to create organic fertilizer and soil additives. Natural pest management, disease prevention, and herbicides are used efficiently when necessary. We promote the use of green mulch for weed prevention, moisture retention, and erosion control. Whether you are looking to landscape a small bed next to your house or a large land-restoration project, None Such Gardens will cultivate color, interest, and life into your space.

By offering design, installation, and maintenance services, we will see your project through every step of the way without anything getting lost in translation. Our work spans across Louisville, Frankfort, and Lexington. We are available anytime through phone, email, and social media. Whether you need help creating a new garden or maintaining an existing one, reach out to us for a free consultation.

About Ellie
Ellie Bullen was born in Florida, but raised in Versailles, Kentucky. She grew up working at Stonhedge Farm helping to raise a wide variety of vegetables. Ellie returned to Sarasota, Florida to earn her Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from the New College of Florida. After moving back to Lexington in 2020, Ellie spent a year with AmeriCorps NCCC as a team leader. There, she worked across the country from Denver to New York City, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico with organizations including FEMA, the National Park Service, Girl Scouts, and Habitat for Humanity. Ellie discovered Earthship Biotecture in Taos, New Mexico and attended the Earthship Academy in November 2022 where she learned about sustainable architecture. Afterwards, Ellie spent some time in Ontario, Canada before moving to New York City to work with Folia Gardens. This gave her the opportunity to maintain landscapes across the city in backyards, rooftops, and everything in between. After obtaining her Landscape Design Certification, Ellie returned to Kentucky in 2024 with the hope to bring her skills and unwavering passion for horticulture back home. She currently resides happily in Frankfort with her partner and their cats.
